HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Marshall women’s basketball team was impressive Wednesday afternoon as they beat Louisiana 74-42 in front of 3,024 fans at the Henderson Center. The Herd used balanced scoring in the win as ten different players registered at least three points. Abby Beeman, Sydni Scott and Breanna Campbell all scored in double figures with Campbell hitting a 30 footer that ended the first half.

“I’m happy with that win today,” Marshall Women’s Basketball coach Kim Caldwell said. “That’s a good team and a better team than what they looked like. It was a big game for us.”

It was a loud and energetic game at the Henderson Center as the game welcomed over 2,000 kids for Education Day and the game also was a part of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Marshall improves to 17-6 overall and 11-1 in Sun Belt play as their next four games are on the road.
