THEFT 2 17:42:00 240717001871 R/O responded to the 200 Block of First Street SE for a report of a stolen scooter. The Complainant stated they secured their scooter to a bike rack at the same location at approximately 0920 hours. When they returned at approximately 1650 hours, the scooter was gone. A canvass of the immediate area yielded negative results. CIS investigating.
NO PERMIT + COUNTERFEIT TAGS 1:58:00 240717001859 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired tag traveling northbound in the 200 Block of First Street NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of Second Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed the individual had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed it was registered to a different vehicle. Suspect was arrested and transported to HQ for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 20:56:00 240716001857 R/O observed a vehicle operating without illuminated headlights while traveling S/B in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NW. Upon approach, R/O observed the Suspect had bloodshot eyes and smelled an odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was arrested processed at HQ.
NO PERMIT + COUNTERFEIT TAGS 17:32:00 240716001856 R/O observed a vehicle with a tag that appeared to be fictitious traveling southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed it was not on file. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed the individual had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was arrested, and processed at HQ.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE (THEFT FROM BUILDING) 10:30:00 240715001833 R/O responded to a room in the Rayburn House Office Building for a report of a theft. The reporting party stated multiple items were taken from the office without the owner's consent. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
NO PERMIT 16:06:00 240715001842 R/O observed a vehicle proceed through a solid red light at the intersection of First Street and Independence Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 17:03:00 240715001843 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired registration travelling southbound in the 100 Block of Second Street SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT (THEFT FROM BUILDING) 15:20:00 240715001840 R/O responded to the U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the reporting party stated a cactus had been stolen from inside the building. A preliminary investigation revealed the cactus went missing between 1200 hours on July 12 and 0700 hours on July 15. CIS notified and will continue to investigate.
CARRY PISTOL WITHOUT LICENSE OUTSIDE HOME/BUSINESS + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, POSS OF CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE - MISD 2:09:00 240714001825 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags being driven westbound in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. When the Suspect attempted to insert paperwork into the glovebox, R/O observed it contained a firearm. Suspect was arrested, transported to HQ, and processed. CSS from MPD DSF responded to process the firearm. The firearm is a revolver w/five live rounds of .45 caliber ammunition. CSS discovered a clear plastic bag that contained a white, powdery substance w/the firearm in the glovebox. A/O conducted a NARK 2 Scott Reagent Modified test of the substance which tested positive for Cocaine. CIS conducted a Gun Registration check with negative results for a concealed carry permit or firearm registration in D.C.
THEFT (FROM MOTOR VEHICLE) 7:15:00 240714001828 R/O was contacted in regard to a theft from a motor vehicle. The Complainant stated they parked their vehicle on the Southeast Drive of the U.S. Capitol Building at approximately 1430 hours on Saturday, July 13. Upon returning to the vehicle at approximately 0715 hours on Sunday, July 14, the Complainant noticed multiple items were missing from their vehicle. No suspects. CIS investigating.
