A man, woman and juvenile were found dead Monday morning in Livingston Parish, in what appears to be a murder-suicide, the sheriff's office said.

It is believed that Jenny Williamson, 49, shot and killed first her husband, 49-year-old Steven Williamson, and then an 8-year-old child who was living with the couple, before turning the gun on herself, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to West Bates Road, south of Albany, around 8 a.m. Monday after receiving a call from a concerned family member, who had gone to the residence to check on the Williamsons and discovered the scene.

Ard said the Sheriff's Office has not had any other calls out to the family's home prior to Monday, and that they also never received any calls about domestic violence.

Jenny and Steven Williamson previously lived in Jefferson Parish and moved to Livingston Parish less than a year ago, Ard said.

The Sheriff's Office estimates that the shooting happened late Friday or early Saturday, but did not release details regarding the individuals' injuries or the child's identity. The 8-year-old was not Jenny Williamson's child, but lived with herself and her husband under a custody agreement.

“These are tough, because the people that are involved are deceased,” Ard said while answering questions from media.

This is a developing story.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (225) 686-2241, ext. 1 or Capital Region Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
