Hand-crafted and delicious dishes featuring contemporary Cantonese cuisine by Chef Liang and his talented culinary team – with a particular focus on regional cuisines from around China – are the focus of the new menu at Café Zi in Mandarin Oriental, Wangfujing, Beijing. All dishes are prepared a-la-carte, cooked to order, using the finest, freshest, and seasonal ingredients. A selection of dim sum dishes is served for lunch.

The stylish restaurant, known for its stunning decor and fabulous Forbidden City views, offers a new twist on classic Cantonese dishes such as Wok Fried Prawn with Spicy Sweet and Sour Sauce, Wok Fried Choi Sum with Sweet Soy Sauce and Baked Razor Clam with Spring Onion and Sea Salt.

Seafood is a specialty of Café Zi, with a range of enticing options that include imported Boston Lobster steamed with Chinese wine, green crab steamed with pork spare rib or grouper fish prepared in different styles including the option of steaming with Sichuan pepper or baked with lemongrass. Braised sea cucumber is another menu delicacy.

Diners can accompany their meal with a wide variety of noodles, rice and congee and a splendid choice of specialty Chinese teas including High Mountain Oolong and Xiaozhong Black Tea.
