South Carolina Medicaid: Where to get care

We know you can get sick or hurt without warning. Your doctor can see you when you’re sick and when you’re well.

When your doctor is available

For most issues, your primary care provider (PCP):

  • Can give you the care you need
  • Can visit with you when you’re well and when you’re sick
  • May offer virtual care (telehealth) visits

During a virtual care (telehealth) visit, you can connect with your doctor without leaving your home.

A virtual care visit may be appropriate for:

  • Allergies
  • Bug bites
  • Bumps, cuts, and scrapes
  • Cold sores
  • Cough, sore throat, congestion
  • Ear pain
  • Flu symptoms
  • Gout
  • Minor headaches, sprains, strains
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Pink eye
  • Sinus infection
  • Strep throat
  • Urinary burning

Ask your doctor if he or she offers virtual visits.
