When it comes to moving abroad there is a lot to think about. Not only where to work but also where you plan on staying and of course, the cost of living.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), over half a million people emigrated from the UK last year.

While many people want to pack up their lives and move abroad it seems like some are turning their dreams into reality.

However, AB Drylining who commissioned the research by marketing and research company Avid Panda, shows exactly where they plan on going.

The team analysed Google search queries with the keywords “moving to” over the past twelve months to determine which countries Brits most want to relocate to.

But where do they plan to go? Australia, with approximately 2,000 moving-related searches.

In the past year, interest has increased by a staggering seven percent alone. This doesn’t come as a surprise given that the weather is warmer, there is a shared language and the culture is more laid-back.

Not to mention, the country’s job opportunities are also pretty attractive.

In second place was Canada with 1,600 searches. The country is generally considered to be pretty safe with a liberal government and friendly citizens.

Meanwhile, Spain ranks as the third most desired country with 1,300 searches. Interest in relocating to the country has increased by a whopping 18 percent.

The top reasons British people choose Spain include better weather, a lower cost of living, and the convenience of staying within easy reach of loved ones in the UK.
