Tommy Paul is set to lean on fellow American Frances Tiafoe ahead of his clash with Carlos Alcaraz on Tuesday. Tiafoe is one of Alcaraz's good friends off the court but he could be his worst nightmare at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz edged a thilling five-set match against Tiafoe in the third round at the All England Club last week.

But the American could give all the secrets away on how to make Alcaraz's life difficult as Paul attempts to trouble the top seed.

"I mean, we'll probably talk a little bit," Paul said. "I think two days ago, whenever they played, that was actually my first time ever going in the Centre Court at Wimbledon.

"I went to go watch that. I kind of just showed up a little late, though. I showed up the end of the fourth set. Didn't go great from there for him.

"We talked a little bit today, but not too much about that, because he knew I had another match to play before I even got there. But we'll probably talk a little bit, yeah."

Paul hit 11 aces in his three-set victory over Roberto Bautista Agut on Sunday and he is hoping it will be a key weapon against another Spaniard.

"The serve is always the most important shot in men's tennis," he explained. "That will be something that I'll want to do very well in my next round. But the return's also a very important shot.

"Serve and return are big for me. We both play a pretty aggressive style of tennis. He's been playing pretty well and ultra aggressive.

"I mean, it's fun for people to watch. Honestly, it's fun to play against. I'm really excited for the matchup."
