KEY EVENTS

Djokovic wins

Novak Djokovic has done it in four. He wins 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(3).

"It was another tough match. I didn’t expect anything less than what we experienced on the court today from Alexei. I know he was going to come to the match with confidence, a lot of self-belief. He was close to winning [when we played] in Australia earlier this year," Djokovic said.

"With that serve and powerful forehand, he’s dangerous on any surface.

"I knew he was in form and he was going to come out believing he can win. He was the better player in the first set. I think I played a good second and third and the fourth was anybody’s game. He was serving very well. It was very difficult to read his serve.

"It was just a very challenging match, mentally as well to hang in there. I'm not allowed to have too big concentration lapses. I think I’ve done well in that regard in one of the best tie-breaks I’ve played this year, that’s for sure."

Djokovic leads

Novak Djokovic leads Alexei Popyrin 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 3-3.

The Serb may get this wrapped up in the next 20 minutes.

Djokovic breaks back

Novak Djokovic is back in it, he won the second set and has an early break in the third against Alexei Popyrin.

Djokovic in big trouble

Novak Djokovic could be in big trouble on Centre Court, he has just lost the first set 6-4 to Alexei Popyrin.

Swiatek out!

Iga Swiatek has crashed out of Wimbledon with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 defeat to Yulia Putintseva!

The top seed had not lost a match since April.

Ons Jabeur knocked out

Ons Jabeur has suffered a shock loss to Ukrainian Elina Svitolina.

Jabeur reached the Wimbledon final in each of the last two years but she went down 6-1, 7-6(4) on Centre Court.

Murray 'disappointed'

Andy Murray is said to be 'disappointed' that Emma Raducanu pulled out of their mixed doubles match.

A report from PA claims that the Brit was surprised to learn of the withdrawal hours before their scheduled tie.

Upset on the cards?

Top seed Iga Swiatek is in a real battle on Court 1.

The Polish star is the favourite to win the Wimbledon title and she stormed into a 6-3 lead.

But Yulia Putintseva has hit back by taking the second set 6-1!

We're going to a decider

Zverev through

Alexander Zverev has beaten Cameron Norrie 6-4, 6-4, 7-6(15) after a marathon third-set tiebreak.

The German played in front of a star-studded Royal Box that included Pep Guardiola.

Zverev will face either Taylor Fritz or Alejandro Tabilo in the fourth round.

Murray's mum fumes

Andy Murray's mum Judy claimed that it was "astonishing" for Emma Raducanu to pull out of Wimbledon mixed doubles with her son, just hours before what could have been the two-time SW19 champion's final match ever at the tournament.

The news quickly spread and sports presenter Marcus Buckland reacted on X (formerly known as Twitter) by highlighting that Murray would not get another chance to compete at Wimbledon in the mixed doubles.

"Astonishing news that Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her mixed doubles match with Andy Murray," Buckland wrote. "She’s citing soreness in her right wrist. It means Murray has played his last match at Wimbledon. Oh dear!"

In response to Buckland, Murray's mother Judy replied with: "Yes, astonishing."

Raducanu withdraws from mixed doubles

Raducanu is out of the Wimbledon mixed doubles, with Andy Murray now in limbo.

The British duo were scheduled to team up later today in the mixed doubles but the excitement has now been dashed following Raducanu's withdrawal.

A statement from the Raducanu camp said: "Unfortunately I woke up with some stiffness in my right wrist this morning, so therefore I have decided to make the very tough decision to withdraw from the mixed doubles tonight. I’m disappointed as I was really looking forward to playing with Andy but got to take care."

Zverev breaks Norrie early doors

Zverev has got the early break against Norrie, taking a 4-3 lead in the first set on Centre Court.

A tough match awaits the Brit following his emphatic victory over Jack Draper the other day.

Play suspended

Play has been suspended on the outside courts at SW19. It means Harriet Dart will come back out 3-1 down.

Play is scheduled to get going again at 2pm but the timings could be pushed back...

Nightmare start for Dart

That didn't go to plan first up.

The Chinese star strikes a very early blow.

Raducanu backed over Murray decision

Emma Raducanu's former coach Mark Petchey believes she had little choice but to team up with Andy Murray at Wimbledon.

Speaking to Wimbledon Betting, he said: "Emma would have been mad not to take it. They are the dream team in so many ways. He will be phenomenal.

"We do not speak as much these days as back when I coached her. It was a great time. She was 17 and mixing A-levels with tennis practice. It was during COVID at the National Tennis Centre. She never missed a practice, driving herself from Bromley and smashed it with her A-levels. She took on board everything we decided to work on."

Play delayed

Sigh.....

Been here before this week. Play won't start on the outside courts until 12.30pm at he earliest.

French star withdraws

Lucas Pouille has withdrawn from Wimbledon ahead of his third round match with Alex de Minaur.

Pouille has revealed he was suffering with injury in the last round against Thanasi Kokkinakis, before the Australian ironically retired hurt.

"My whole team was telling me 'Retire, stop' at 6-2," he told reporters. "I said to myself: 'If you get broken, you stop'. I was afraid of getting worse. What if I was going to tear everything away. I was told to give up so as not to jeopardise the summer."

The development could cause chaos with the schedule. Pouille has pulled out after the draw was rejigged, with organisers putting him last out on court three to allow him time to recover.

Alcaraz explains Bellingham tribute

Carlos Alcaraz has explained why he celebrated like Jude Bellingham after beating Frances Tiafoe yesterday.

"I have huge respect for him,” said Alvarez, in his post-match press conference. “We're in London. He is England. So that's why. I told him that the big win deserves a big celebration.”

Djokovic opponent: 'I know I can do it'

Alexei Popyrin has said he believes he can beat Novak Djokovic after taking the Serbian to four sets at the Australian Open.

The world No.47 blew set points at 1-1 in that clash, and said yesterday: "I know I can do it.

"In Australia, I think I gave a really good account for myself. I genuinely believe I would have won if I had won that second set, I feel I was in the driving seat. I felt super comfortable out there.

"He's a super solid player. But I do feel he gives you chances. Not many, but when he does, you have to take it. If you don't he'll make you pay."

Day six order of play

So Cameron Norrie gets us underway on Centre Court at 1.30pm today, taking on Alexander Zverev. He'll be followed by Ons Jabeur v Elina Svitolina and Alexei Popyrin v Novak Djokovic.

Gauff humble in victory

Coco Gauff showed her class after beating Britain's Sonay Kartal in the third round.

"I thought I played really well, she was playing well at a high level, especially at the first set," Gauff said in her on-court interview. "It’s been a great tournament for her and I know how special it is to play at home, so I am happy that she had such a good tournament and hopefully she’ll be back for more in the future."
