England supporters have clashed with those of Germany on the streets following the host nation's elimination from Euro 2024 on Friday evening. Germany fell to a dramatic 2-1 defeat against Spain in Stuttgart, a day before England face Switzerland in Dusseldorf for a spot in the semi-finals.

Dani Olmo calmly fired the Spaniards into an early second-half lead with a low finish from Lamine Yamal's cutback, having replaced the injured Pedri after just eight minutes.

Another substitute, Florian Wirtz, kept Germany alive with a last-gasp equaliser, blasting Joshua Kimmich's header across goal past Unai Simon.

But despite the hosts looking the more likely to snatch victory during extra-time, Olmo popped up again with another crucial contribution.

The 26-year-old's delightful cross from the left found Mikel Merino, who produced an acrobatic 119th-minute header to send Germany packing at the MHP Arena.

England fans will have enjoyed the mouthwatering showcase as they undoubtedly stayed hydrated and in good spirits ahead of Saturday's outing against Switzerland.

But a video published by the Mail showed supporters mocking and clashing with German fans on the streets after full-time.

A few German supporters were filmed gesturing to a larger group of England's as they received chants of: "They're going home, they're going home, they're going, Germans going home."

Two fans then squared up before a can of drink flew from the English group towards the Germans, sparking a short-lived brawl.

More drinks were thrown as a few fans engaged in punches and kicks before other members of their respective parties broke things up.

As the group of German supporters walked away from the conflict, the English visitors produced an encore of the previous chant.

There were waves aplenty and... other hand and arm gestures before the conflict fizzled out at the end of the clip.

England face Switzerland for a third semi-final spot in their last four international tournaments at 5pm BST on Saturday.

Gareth Southgate reportedly plans to abandon the 4-2-3-1 formation that has produced four underwhelming performances at Euro 2024 so far.

He is said to plan on reverting to the three-at-the-back system he used at the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020, with Ezri Konsa replacing the suspended Marc Guehi alongside Kyle Walker and John Stones.

Kieran Trippier has been tipped to get the nod over Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right, with Bukayo Saka expected to be utilised on the opposite flank.

Kobbie Mainoo should retain his place alongside Declan Rice in midfield, while Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham have been tipped to operate as two No. 10s behind Harry Kane.
