This Morning: 80s pop legend Marin Fry chats to Cat and Ben

Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were joined by 80s pop legend Martin Fry during the latest episode of This Morning.

The ABS frontman graced the ITV programme to discuss his illustrious career.Viewers were sent into a nostalgic frenzy over Martin's appearance, with many taking to Twitter to praise the age-defying star. One smitten fan tweeted: "Martin Fry - so so handsome."

Others chimed in with admiration, as one said: "Looking good for 66 Martin," and another remarked: "From memory, he's either aged really well or looked the same since the 80s."

Echoing the sentiment, another tweet read: "Martin Fry looks good for 66."

In conversation with the hosts, Cat probed into the inspiration behind his band's iconic style, noting that fans emulated their unique image, reports the Mirror.

Martin explained: "I always thought the British film industry had shrunk but there's always these very charismatic characters if you went to a nightclub in the early 80s.

"So, when you look at Boy George, Annie Lennox or George Michael, these are stars."

Reflecting on the heyday of his career, Martin shared anecdotes about the pop music scene, including flights to New York packed with British pop icons aiming to break America.

He reminisced: "We had the 70s, where people had leather trousers and rock'n'roll. We were the 80s, we were bringing everything into the bag from cinema to all those jumble sales we used to go to."

The singer humorously admitted that most of their outfits were homemade, but that's not the case now.

Martin was the frontman of the band ABC, which was first formed in 1981, alongside Mark White, Stephen Singleton and David Palmer.

Their debut album, The Lexicon Of Love, topped the charts and is still considered a classic today.

At present, Martin is touring for his autobiography, A Lexicon Of Life, where fans can enjoy an evening of music and conversation with the singing star.
