Corrie icon 'needs to watch his back' as fans work out who 'nasty' Kit will target next

Coronation Street fans have ‘rumbled’ who Kit Green will target next.

The copper (Jacob Roberts) rocked up to Weatherfield as the long-lost son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) this year. Soap favourite Bernie gave up Christopher ‘Kit’ Green for adoption almost thirty years ago.

She eventually tracked him down a few months ago - but Kit didn’t want anything to do with her or her family. Meanwhile, Bernie’s twins Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash) had no idea they have another brother.

What’s more, Kit also had a part to play in Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) getting sent to prison for the murder of Lauren Bolton. As fans will recall, the troubled youngster went missing earlier this year and is presumed dead.

But in a shock twist, Kit planted Lauren’s DNA in Nathan's van and framed him. In reality, viewers learned the truth about Lauren’s disappearance: she was actually beaten to death by solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill).

However, things took a dramatic turn on Monday night when Lauren Bolton - who is presumed dead - showed up at Roy Cropper's hospital bedside following his heart attack.

Over in the soap last week, Bernie was devastated when Kit went behind her back to tell the twins about him being her son.

Gemma and Paul were left stunned at the revelation - and when she arrived at their flat, Bernie was horrified to see them all together.

In hopes of causing chaos, Kit was able to get what he had to say out there without Bernie stopping him. He then watched as Gemma and Paul confronted their mum, as he claimed she was happy to abandon him as a kid.

Since then, tensions have been high between Bernie and Gemma and Paul - much to the delight of Kit. However, during Monday’s episode (July 8) Bernie’s partner Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) got involved in the drama - and fans are fearing it will backtrack on him.

In the episode, Kit revealed to the twins he had just attended his adopted mother’s funeral. Gemma and Paul then scrimped together the pennies to buy some flowers for him.

Dev caught wind of Gemma and Paul’s gesture and persuaded Bernie to do the same. But Kit wasn’t impressed and lashed out at them while at the Rovers.

Now, fans reckon Kit could end up getting revenge on Dev, the more the family drama continues. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Dev vs Kit.”

Someone else replied: “Dev really needs to watch his back here, as a cop, Kit could dig up, find or plant anything on Dev to get even with Bernie - he’s already turned the twins against her.” A third wrote: “Dev is pushing his luck with KIt/Zodiac - I think he's got a very nasty side...”
