EastEnders has a history of resurrecting deceased characters, and now Angela Wynter, who played Yolande Trueman, has hinted at the possible return of a much-loved character who was previously killed off.

During Christmas, Keanu Taylor, portrayed by Danny Walters, was killed by Linda Carter, played by Kellie Bright. As viewers will remember, Keanu was on the verge of strangling his fiancee Sharon Watts, played by Letitia Dean, in the Queen Vic.

Earlier that day, and on their wedding day, Sharon discovered Keanu's involvement in their son Albie's kidnapping. She also revealed to him that he was not Albie's father, as the child's actual father is Phil Mitchell, played by Steve McFadden.

Later, in an attempt to prevent Keanu from murdering Sharon, Linda intervened and stabbed him. Although Keanu was no longer a physical threat, his death did not end their ordeal.

The rest of The Six - Kathy Beale, Suki Panesar, Denise Fox and Stacey Slater - then helped conceal the murder by disposing of Keanu's body in the cafe.

In true soap opera style, his body was eventually found under the floorboards of the Bridge Street Cafe. However, the women managed to evade punishment for the crime by framing Linda's rapist, Dean Wicks, for Keanu's murder.

EastEnders icon Angela Wynter, famed for her portrayal of Yolande Trueman, has dropped a bombshell hint that Keanu might be on the cards for a sensational return to the streets of Walford.

The star was spotted at the TRIC Awards earlier this week, where she engaged in a juicy gossip session with Simon Goss about the swirling speculation that Danny Dyer could reprise his role as Mick Carter, despite his character's dramatic disappearance at sea last year.

"Anyone can come back," Angela quipped. She went on to confirm, "Keanu can come back, yeah, Keanu can come back," all while flashing a knowing grin.

This intriguing tidbit follows hot on the heels of Danny Dyer himself stirring the pot regarding his potential comeback to the beloved soap. In an interview with Heat magazine, Danny mused, "Everyone is asking when I'm going back to EastEnders, which is very interesting to me."

The star of The Football Factory expressed how flattered he was by fans' eagerness to see him return to Albert Square, elaborating: "If there's no closure there, then maybe I would come back for a dream sequence.

"I don't think Mick could just rock up covered in seaweed! I think if they did it right, with the 40th anniversary coming up, if they came up with an idea of maybe Linda drunk or hallucinating, then I would come back and do some scenes with her."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
