The Trivandrum-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in India is known globally as the world's longest train journey without a single stop.

It spans from Vadodara, on the east coast of India, to Kota, to the north.

The distance of the journey is 528km and lasts six and a half hours without stopping.

The route's status as the longest non-stop train journey came under threat in 2023 when it began stopping at Ratlam, which is 258km from Vadodara.

National News reported at the time that this change gave the top spot to the Mumbai-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, which goes non-stop for 465km between New Delhi and Kota, taking just over five hours.

The Guinness World Records says the longest non-stop train journey covered 1,421km from London to Cannes in May 2006.

This was a special Eurostar service promoting the movie 'The Da Vinci Code'.

The longest train journey is the Trans-Siberian, which passes through 87 cities and 876 stations over a week.

As the Russian invasion of Ukraine has impacted the Trans-Siberian Express, the current longest train journey is the service from Toronto to Vancouver – covering 4,466km in four nights.
