A leading neurologist from Walter Reed Medical Center reportedly had a significant meeting at the White House with President Biden’s personal doctor, according to visitor logs.

The meeting, held on January 17 at the White House residence clinic, included Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s disease expert, Dr. John E. Atwood, a cardiologist from Walter Reed, and one unidentified individual, according to The New York Post.

This meeting comes at a time when questions about the 81-year-old president’s mental health are intensifying, particularly after a debate with former President Trump last week, which drew widespread attention.

Dr. Cannard, recognized for his expertise in Parkinson’s disease, has been associated with Walter Reed for nearly two decades and has served as a neurology specialist for the White House Medical Unit since 2012.

His recent publication in the journal Parkinsonism & Related Disorders in August 2023 delves into early-stage Parkinson’s disease.

Given Dr. O’Connor’s primary responsibility for President Biden’s health, it is highly probable that the meeting centred on the president, according to Rep. Ronny Jackson, a former physician for Presidents Obama and Trump.

“It’s highly likely they were talking about Biden,” Jackson told The Post.

“He should only be (regularly) treating the president and the first family.”

Dr. O’Connor, who has been Biden’s official physician since January 2021, maintains daily contact with the president.

He affirmed Biden’s health status following a comprehensive physical in February, which included a neurological exam that ruled out Parkinson’s disease.

Despite this clean bill of health, concerns about Biden's cognitive abilities have persisted.

Following the disastrous debate against Donald Trump on June 27, Rep. Jackson claimed it evidenced Biden's cognitive decline and called for his resignation.

Additionally, Jackson has accused Dr. O’Connor and the First Family of attempting to conceal the president's diminishing cognitive health.

The White House, on Friday, confirmed that Biden had a “verbal check-in” with Dr. O’Connor post-debate.

Dr. O’Connor, who is closely connected to the First Family, is seen as a trusted figure capable of managing the president’s health narrative, according to Jackson.
