ORIGINAL: Sony is just days away from officially unveiling the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games for July 2024. The next batch of PS Plus Extra and Premium games will be announced at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of July 10. The games will be available to download and play less than a week later on July 16. Sony typically adds around a dozen PS4 and PS5 games to the PS Plus Extra library, plus a handful of retro and PSVR 2 games exclusively for Premium subscribers. With the reveal inbound, some subscribers have been attempting to predict the line-up ahead of the big reveal. Judging by the guesses, it looks like Square Enix action game Forspoken could finally make an appearance after months of fan predictions.

Indeed, in a post over on Reddit, multiple subscribers believe that Forspoken will join the line-up as one of the headline PS Plus Extra games for July.

Forspoken received mixed reviews at launch, and failed to make much of an impact in the sales charts. However, despite the negativity surrounding the game, Forspoken certainly isn't without merit.

The game features a unique magic-based parkour system, some flashy visuals, and an intriguing premise. Bringing it to PS Plus Extra would boost interest in the game and might lead to Square Enix making money on Forspoken DLC.

Elsewhere, and perhaps less likely, Hogwarts Legacy gets a few mentions in the PS Plus Extra predictions thread.

The Harry Potter video game spinoff transports players to the famous wizarding school, where they'll attend classes, learn magic and attempt to solve an ancient mystery.

While Hogwarts Legacy is a somewhat plausible choice, the game is still selling well, which makes me think it's too soon for PS Plus.

Another game that could make an appearance is Assassin's Creed Mirage, which takes the series back to its roots.

Ubisoft games often appear on PS Plus Extra, so it feels like AC Mirage will join the service sooner rather than later.

Adding Mirage to PS Plus Extra would also give players the chance to experience the Assassin's Creed series before this year's release of AC Shadows.

Other games with lots of predictions include Resident Evil Village, Viewfinder, Dying Light, Hades and Dead Island 2.

Cyberpunk 2077 also gets a mention, alongside Gran Turismo 7, Lies of P and fellow Soulslike Lord of the Fallen.

Most people are convinced that another LEGO game will join the line-up, while some cynics believe Lord of the Rings Gollum and Skull Island: Rise of Kong will be added.

With the new season launching later this week, I wouldn't be surprised if Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League joins the line-up.

While publisher Warner Bros would take a hit on the cost of the game, a PS Plus release would boost player numbers and potentially provide a cash injection via the sale of Battle Passes.
