Gladiator 2 trailer has landed as Paul Mescal stars in Ridley Scott's epic Roman sequel, co-starring Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington.

The hype is real and with it Gladiator 2 (or Gladiator II) has its first trailer arrive today.

It’s been 25 years since Sir Ridley Scoot shot Russell Crowe in Roman epic Gladiator and the 86-year-old director is back with the sequel.

Oscar-nominee Paul Mescal stars as Lucius Verus, the former heir to the Empire, who Spencer Treat Clark previously portrayed in the original movie.

Connie Nielsen reprises his mother Lucilla in the new blockbuster, which received an incredible first reaction, alongside an impressive cast.

Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal plays Marcus Acacius, a former military commander forced to fight as a gladiator due to his insubordination.

The film is set during the reign of co-emperors Geta and Caracalla, played by Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger.

Gladiator II is set to be one of the most expensive films ever made with a ballooning budget estimated to be as high as $310 million.

Gladiator II hits UK cinemas on November 15, 2024 and US movie theatres on November 22, 2024.
