Richard E Grant shares wedding news in emotional update three years after wife's death

Richard E Grant celebrated a special union, three years after his wife Joan Washington died from cancer.

Richard E Grant took to social media to announce the wedding of his daughter Olivia Grant who married financier Florian Herbst. 

The actor shared a sweet photo from the civil ceremony, of the two newlyweds smiling with glee as they sheltered under an umbrella.

This celebration comes three years after the 67-year-old tragically lost his beloved wife, diet coach Joan Washington to lung cancer

The casting associate, who was credited for Barbie, exchanged vows on Monday with only her father and her husband’s parents in attendance. 

Confirming the news on X, the Saltburn star also revealed the ceremony took place at Mayfair restaurant Scott’s before the small wedding party spent the night at The Ritz.

Alongside the heartwarming photo, Richard wrote: “Our beloved daughter @OliviaGranted married Florian Herbst yesterday in a Civil Ceremony with only his parents & me, present.

“Wedding breakfast at Scott’s & a truly spectacular dinner @theritzlondon & suite sleepover. Royally treated!!”

Joan tragically died aged 75, eight months after she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. 

Back in October, Richard announced the news of his daughter’s engagement with four images of Olivia, Florian and her huge diamond ring.

He wrote: “Our beloved daughter @oliviagranted got engaged to Florian Herbst this weekend. Pockets full of Happiness!!”

The wedding photo was inundated with best wishes from fans as well as the actor’s celebrity pals. 

This included a comment from TV chef Nigella Lawson, who wrote: “Congratulations,” with a love heart emoji.”

Actress Arabella Weir added “Aaw, congratulations! That’s wonderful news xxx.”
