Uncensored presenter Piers Morgan commented on reports that donations are flooding in for Donald Trump despite his historic conviction on Thursday.

Donald Trump speaks after trial verdict in Stormy Daniels hush money case

Piers Morgan has predicted the guilty verdict against Donald Trump in his hush money trial won’t harm his hopes for the White House in 2024.

In fact, the controversial former Good Morning Britain presenter predicts it could actually help his chances against Joe Biden.

The business mogul became the first former President of the United States to be criminally convicted after he was found guilty of suppressing a story of an alleged affair with adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

However, the verdict seemingly hasn’t suppressed support for his campaign as Trump’s fundraising website crashed shortly after his conviction was announced.

The GOP’s official campaign wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “The American people see through Crooked Joe Biden’s rigged show trial.

“So many Americans were moved to donate to President Trump’s campaign that the WinRed pages went down.

“We are working on getting the website back online as quickly as possible.”

Shortly afterward, Piers slammed the trial as “trivial” and claimed a guilty verdict on 34 counts could actually propel the divisive former POTUs into a second term.

“This is a sad, shameful and ridiculous day for America,” he wrote.

“To drag a former President, who is running for President again, through criminal courts over something so trivial feels a massive overreach & an incredibly divisive and obviously politically partisan action.”

He later shared: “Trump’s donation websites are crashing… my guess is this verdict will propel him back into the White House.”

When the verdict was announced, Trump dubbed the trial “rigged and disgraceful”, claiming the real verdict will be the election results on November 5.

“I’m a very innocent man,” he said. “I’m fighting for our country. I’m fighting for our Constitution.

“I think it’s just a disgrace. And we’ll keep fighting, we’ll fight till the end and we’ll win because our country has gone to hell.”
