Program: Australian Dance Theatre's Objekt

Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

The Australian Dance Theatre, or ADT, is one of Australia's pre-eminent contemporary dance companies.

Their latest work is called Objekt, and it's deals with some very big themes: objectification, dehumanisation and subjugation.

How you go about expressing those weighty themes in a piece of contemporary dance?

And should contemporary dance be enjoyed as a purely abstract art form? Or is it all about telling stories?

Michael debates these questions with Garry Stewart, the Artistic Director of the Australian Dance Theatre.
