Residents in Alice Springs are waking up after the first night of a new curfew with children and adults banned from being in town after 10pm as police clamp down on street violence.
It's the first time police have used broad new powers handed to them in May and comes after a string of incidents, including an attack on a group of plane clothed police officers.
