NORTHERN MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU) -- The remains of what was Hurricane Beryl will sweep across mainly Central/Southern Michigan Tuesday night into Wednesday with our area seeing a few showers but nothing too impactful. Mild summer weather upcoming as well with highs from Thursday through next Monday generally in the 80's.

TUESDAY (JUL 9): Outside of a very small chance for a pop-up afternoon storm along/east of I-75 Tuesday will end up dry and quiet. Clouds will slowly increase from the south as the remnants of Beryl track toward the Great Lakes. Highs range from 73-85F. Onshore breeze near the Great Lakes at 5-10 mph.

WEDNESDAY (JUL 10): As mentioned above, the remains of what was Hurricane Beryl will lift across the region. It appears best chances for rain will lie south or east of Gaylord but showers are possible elsewhere. The heavier rain will lie downstate with places like Flint and Detroit perhaps seeing 2+" of rain but a lot less up this way. Either way, cloudy most spots all day long. Highs from 75-81F. NE to North wind 5-10 mph.

THURSDAY (JUL 11): Pleasant weather returns Thursday with a partly cloudy sky. I suppose a "pop up" shower or storm can't be completely excluded but for the majority of the area a quiet day. Highs Thursday will reach 78-84F.

EXTENDED FORECAST: A nice stretch coming up Friday through the weekend for the most part with highs reaching the 80's and a decent amount of sunshine. As is typical this time of year a pop up shower or storm remain possible but not really enough to include in the forecast. Slightly better chances arrive Sunday afternoon in the Lower Peninsula. A front approaches Monday with scattered thunderstorms in the forecast early next week.
