The biggest question in American politics right now is will the Democrats force Joe Biden from their presidential ticket?   From what I’ve read and heard, it seems that the majority opinion is “yes,” Biden’s a goner.  Rumor is floating around that even Obama wants him out now, and that’s high-powered stuff.  But Democratic governors are, currently, standing behind Joe, and that ain’t hay, either.  It’s fascinating to observe all the machinations taking place.  And I’m sure we peons don’t know one-tenth of it.  It’s a political junkie’s dream.

Biden and his family are blustering that he will remain to the end.  Such fumings are to be expected.  No megalomaniac (like Jill Biden) ever wants to willingly sacrifice power; that’s all they live for, so they fight to the death to keep what they have.  Biden may go, but he won’t go easily.

And getting rid of him won’t be simple.  Neither political party has been able to deny an incumbent president, who wanted a second term, the nomination of his party since the 1880s.  The power the president wields is enormous, far, far more than our Founders ever intended him to have.  How many thousands of—very powerful—people around the country’s entrenched bureaucracies owe their positions to Biden?  They don’t want him gone, and they aren’t without influence.   Backroom deals can be cut, but those bureaucrats aren’t liable to cheerfully forfeit their cushy, useless, high-paying jobs for the good of America.  They care nothing about the country; that’s obvious from how they are destroying it.   It’s all about “me.”  Power always is.  That’s why it is so dangerous, and why very few people are qualified to have any of it.  Our Founders knew that, and tried to prevent it, but unsuccessfully.  American tyrants are no different from any other tyrants who have plagued the planet since governments were first formed.

But the Democrats want to win in November, power is their sole raison d’etre, and if they conclude (which they probably already have) that they will lose with Biden, then there will indeed be a major effort to crowbar him off his throne and into an old folks’ home where he should have been ten years ago.   Can Jill hang on?  (Joe probably has little idea now what is happening.)   What is being perpetrated underneath, behind, and out-of-sight of the American people?  How many lies are being told?  The American media, the biggest collection of liars outside of Congress, won’t report anything that might even slightly harm the Democratic Party.   They’ve all been on the “Joe must go” bandwagon because they smell defeat in November.  The forces arrayed against Jill are formidable and I seriously doubt she can withstand them.  Every appearance Joe makes only solidifies his mental incapacities.  He will be gone soon.

So, the strategy now becomes when is the best time, and who replaces him?  The convention is August 19-22 and that is the most logical time to reveal a successor.  Biden will probably soon announce he won’t run, but can they get a new candidate before the convention?  Will he, can he, hand his delegates to Kamala?  I don’t see that happening.  The scrum will be on

Waiting for the convention has advantages.  The later Democrats announce a replacement for Biden, the less time the American people will have to scrutinize this new candidate and discover the flaws.  That’s why a relative unknown like Gretchen Whitmer or Josh Shapiro would make sense.   The “honeymoon” period with the new candidate may not be over by election time, certainly not by mid-September when early voting starts.  The later the Democrats disclose Joe’s successor, the less time they’ll have to cover for their new choice.

The problem they have with this strategy is Kamala Harris.  She craves the nomination.  She’s made that known, and is also clear that she won’t be happy if a white person is selected over her.  James Clyburn has stated his support for Kamala, and blacks listen to him.   There will be other pro-Kamala black voices raised on her behalf between Biden’s step-down and the selection of a new candidate.  The Democrats must be very careful not to offend that absolutely critical wing of the party.  There has already been (according to polls) defections of blacks from the Democratic Party.   Putting Kamala at the top of the ticket might restore the 90 percent-plus black vote the Democrats desperately need.

And...the DEI wing of the Democratic Party is very powerful, indeed, largely in control of the party.  If they want Kamala—and they probably do—it will be hard to deny her the top spot.  DEI is a baby the Democrats never aborted as they should have, and it’s a crib they are going to have to rock.  You reap what you sow.

But Kamala is so...horrible.  And already too well known.  The Democrats know it.  Everybody knows it.  Going down that road is almost a sure defeat, too.

This is the dilemma that the Democrats have created for themselves with their atrocious, destructive, America-be-damned left-wing policies. They have painted themselves into a corner. They’ve got a senile incompetent who should never have been president in the first place; but who did they have that was any better?  They placed someone equally inept as VP for the sole reason she punched all the right buttons to appease their racist, sexist, perverted DEI contingent, rather than someone who might have had some appeal to normal Americans.   Now they have a serious conundrum because of it.  Neither incompetent wants to go.  If the Dems bypass Harris for Gavin Newsom, who is drooling for the nomination, they’ll have to defend a governor who is very unpopular in his own state, and who wants to turn the rest of America into California.  Will Americans accept that?  I certainly hope not.

It’s delicious to watch the Democrats flounder.  But it’s their own fault and I certainly don’t feel a bit sorry for them.
