We're a quarterly magazine of culture and science, published since 1885. New Humanist is for anyone who wants to understand the ideas, conflicts and systems shaping our world - climate, capitalism, technology, fundamentalism, struggles for equality and more. We publish a beautiful edition once every three months full of serious, intelligent essays and reportage. Subscribe to our print and digital editions.
New Humanist is published by the Rationalist Association, a registered charity promoting rational inquiry and debate based on evidence rather than belief.
For subscription enquiries, please email subs@newhumanist.org.uk or phone 020 3633 4633.
New Humanist magazine welcomes pitches for features on culture, ideas, science and philosophy. We're also looking for poems (please send no more than six), book reviews and in-depth reportage, both globally and UK-focused. Buy a copy of the magazine to get a better sense of our style and coverage. We also accept pitches for our website of up to 1,000 words, focused on our core humanist themes. We pay our contributors, rates to be discussed on pitching or speculative submission. Poetry submissions should be sent to fiona.sampson@newhumanist.org.uk. All other pitches and submissions should be sent to: editor@newhumanist.org.uk.
