Please note: Online credit/debit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee. Also, automatic credit card draft payments are subject to the 3% fee. To avoid this fee, you can sign up for auto bank draft payments online, send a check in the mail, or pay your bill in person at the Mundelein Village Hall, 300 Plaza Circle. Also, Mundelein has a night drop box outside the Village Hall and customers may drop off their check payments in this box 24 hours per day.
Attention Current Auto Debit Water Billing Customers
Auto-Draft Pay Program
If you signed up for auto-draft to pay your water bill under Mundelein's previous billing system, you are still signed up for auto-draft under Mundelein's new water billing payment system. This means you do not have to sign up again for Auto Draft. Your payment will be debited automatically just as before. You are all set!
Senior Discount
Customers who were previously signed up to receive their senior discount are still signed up! You do not have to sign up for the Senior Discount again. You are all set!

Mundelein's enhanced online water billing payment portal offers several convenient ways to pay your bill log on now. You can also pay your water bill in person at the Mundelein Village Hall-300 Plaza Circle or utilize Mundelein's water billing drop-off box at the Village Hall.

2024 Water Billing Rates
Auto-Draft Pay Program
The bank draft payment option is only available through a checking/savings account. A credit card draft is also available with a 3% convenience fee. Your account number and an 8-digit PIN number printed on the face of your water bill are required to register for additional services and to activate a bank draft or a credit card draft.
Water Billing Process
Residents and property owners are billed every other month for their water usage. A minimum bill (6 Units) is charged to all accounts each billing period to partially cover fixed costs of operations. One billing unit is equivalent to approximately 750 gallons.

Understanding Your Water Bill's New Format
The Village of Mundelein has just implemented enhancements to our Water Billing system to improve the customer experience. You may have noticed that your water bill looks different. To help you become comfortable with the new look of your water bill, we have pointed out in red the most important features on your bill: account number and PIN number. To access the new system, you will need to register your account with your account number and your PIN number.

Every Mundelein water customer had to be assigned a new account number because Mundelein is using a new water billing provider.
- Why does my water bill look different?

Your Mundelein water bill is now generated from a different water billing provider. We had to make this change because the previous provider no longer provides this service.
- What is a PIN Number?

PIN stands for Personal Identification Number. Your PIN number is unique to you!
- Where do I find my new PIN Number?

Your PIN number is located at the top portion of your bill in the upper right-hand corner.

- What if I cannot pay my water bill by the due date?

If you cannot pay your bill by the due date, please contact customer service at 847-949-3245 immediately, before the due date. Our team will work with you on a plan to pay the balance of your bill over time. Both residential and Commercial/Industrial customers can enroll in a payment plan. Please call us so we can work together.

- What are the reasons for a higher-than-expected water bill?

An unusually high bill can occur for many reasons, including:
- When an actual meter reading follows estimated readings that are lower than actual consumption.
- When there is a leak in your plumbing system or in the service line past the point of your water meter.
- When you have been using water for seasonal purposes such as irrigation, gardening, or filling a pool.
- If your bill is unusually high and you do not know why, please contact the Customer Service Center at 847-949-3245 so we can help you determine the cause.
Mundelein offers a $21 senior citizen discount per billing period if usage is 15 units or less. Persons 65 years or older, living within the Village of Mundelein, may qualify for this discount:
Mundelein's Stormwater Fee is a flat utility fee that is used to mitigate flooding issues throughout the Village and maintain the stormwater system. The fee is based on parcel size, with the minimum set at $3 per month or $6 per bimonthly bill.
