Banff’s Fire Department

Banff’s Fire Department is made up of 26 volunteer and three full-time members. The department is equipped with 1,500 and 1,050 GPM (gallons per minute) pumpers, a rescue truck, a 75 foot aerial ladder truck and the "Jaws of Life."

Homeowners in the Town of Banff can request a free FireSmart assessment from the fire department.

FireSmart Tree Replacement Incentive

Remove a conifer tree on your property and get a free deciduous tree from the Town of Banff.

Combustible Roof Replacement Incentive Program

The Town of Banff is offering financial incentives for homeowners to replace unrated combustible roof system. 

Donate your Old Car

Donate your unwanted vehicle to the Banff Fire Department so it can be used for training purposes. Firefighters use old cars to practice extrication, patient care and stabilization. To donate your vehicle, call the fire department at 403.762.1256. A charitable tax receipt of $300 is available. The department is unable to accept large, commercial-sized vehicles.

  • Coordinates emergency services and emergency preparedness within the Town of Banff
  • Manages public education during National Fire Prevention Week
  • Handles fire safety and structural fire prevention
  • Handles fire protection and inspections
