An incentive program is available for residential property owners to reduce wildfire hazards by removing conifer trees and replacing them with deciduous trees. Remove a conifer tree on your property and get a free deciduous tree from the Town of Banff. Complete the form below to start the process:
To qualify for the Town of Banff’s FireSmart Tree Replacement Incentive you will need to complete a free, no obligation FireSmart Assessment from the Fire Department. After submitting the FireSmart Tree Replacement form, you will be contacted by the Fire Department to schedule an assessment. A trained FireSmart evaluator will visit your home for approx. 30 minutes and provide recommendations on how to better FireSmart your home, as well as confirm the conifer tree(s) to be removed.
Should the tree(s) qualify, the Town will coordinate and deliver the tree(s) to your home and assist in placing them. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to prepare the planting site and help install the tree(s). Advice in placing the tree, including information on planting and care, will be provided.
