SnowDays Winter Festival

SnowDays 2022

SnowDays is a celebration of all things winter in Banff. Check out all the activities and events held January 19-February 4, 2024, from Banff and Lake Louise Tourism. There will be snow sculptures throughout town, the SnowDays Play Zone and Skijoring on Banff Avenue.

There will be some road and parking lot closures for the event:

Friday, January 12, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

  • Beaver Street Fire Hall parking lot full closure
  • Alleyway vehicle access closed in between Parks Canada* parking lot entrance and Caribou Street
    • *access to the Parks Canada parking lot from Wolf Street open, with intermittent traffic delays (flaggers)

Monday, January 15-Monday, February 5, from 6 a.m. (Jan 15) until 6 p.m. (Feb 5)

  • The 200 block of Bear Street, between parkades at Bear Street Mall and Brewster’s Mountain Lodge, will be closed to traffic
  • Bear Street surface parking lot will remain open and retain access from alley (except Feb 5 from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
    • *access to the resident parkades open, with intermittent traffic delays (flaggers)

Wednesday, January 17, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

  • The 100 block of Bear Street, between above ground parkade and underground parkade entrances, will be closed to traffic
    • *access to the above ground and underground parkades remains open, with intermittent traffic delays (flaggers)

Friday, January 19 – Sunday, January 21, from 6 a.m. (Jan 19) until 5 p.m. (Jan 21) (EXCEPT on Jan 20, see below)

  • 100 block of Banff Ave, between Caribou St and Buffalo St., will be closed to traffic
  • Caribou St east of Banff Ave closed to alley.
  • Caribou St west of Banff Ave, open to traffic. Please note that you can only turn from/turn to the 200 block of Banff Ave.

Saturday, January 20

SKIJOR DAY, from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m.

  • 100 block of Banff Ave, between Caribou St and Buffalo St., will be closed to traffic
  • Caribou St east of Banff Ave closed to alley.
  • Caribou St west of Banff Ave, open to traffic. Please note that you can only turn from/turn to the 200 block of Banff Ave.  

Monday, February 5

  • 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. Bear Street surface parking lot closure
  • 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Beaver Street surface parking lot by fire hall closure
  • 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Bear Street 100 block between the parkades closure
