Phaphazela Village, Vhembe District, Limpopo, Steps Up for Health Early in June, Phaphazela Village in Vhembe, Limpopo, came together for an impactful TB Awareness Campaign hosted by #THINKSouthAfrica, funded by USAID, and generously backed by Soul City Institute . Representatives from Wits RHI (Reproductive Health Initiative), the Department of Health (#DoH), and THINK South Africa shared insights on #HIV, tuberculosis (#TB), and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) — a medication used to prevent HIV infection. The Acting Mayor voiced strong support, emphasising community commitment to health initiatives. Essential services such as HIV testing, TB screening and testing, psychosocial support, family planning counselling, chronic disease management education, and screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) were provided. Partnerships with organisations like Soul City, Wits RHI, #CHoiCeTrust, loveLife, and Poverty Alleviation and Support for People Living With HIV/AIDS (#PASPWA) demonstrated a unified approach to tackling public health challenges. This collaborative effort strengthens community health efforts and enhances local engagement. We deeply appreciate the support from the Collins Chabane Municipality and all our valued stakeholders and partners. #CommunityHealth #Partnerships #MakingADifference

Empowering Traditional Healer Practitioners: THINK South Africa Joins Thaba-Nchu Healthcare Initiative 🌟 On June 26, at Mmabana Town Hall in the Thaba-Nchu sub-district, of the Free State, #THINKSouthAfrica collaborated with the Department of Health and other district support partners, joining the Black Woman Arise Women's Health Foundation during their training initiative for Traditional Healer Practitioners (THPs). THINK South Africa conducted #TB screening and testing using our Mobile Digital X-Ray van, providing instant results that impressed many Traditional Healer Practitioners unfamiliar with this technology. This positive reception led to an invitation to an information session the next day, where the THPs expressed interest in further TB education and training. #HIV testing services and family planning were also offered at the event. Historically, Thaba-Nchu in the Free State Province has faced healthcare challenges, including limited access to services, facilities, and trained medical personnel. Collaborative initiatives with local health departments and support organisations are crucial for enhancing healthcare access and outcomes. Through targeted interventions like TB and HIV testing, and community education programs, we aim for lasting improvements in community health. USAID #CommunityHealth #DOH #MakingADifference
