Your commitment to advancing South Africa's renewable energy landscape is truly inspiring. With a combined capacity of 360 MW and a total investment of R4.9 billion, these projects mark a significant step towards South Africa's energy security, and we are so grateful to be part of the process. A special thank you to his honourable minister Gwede Mantashe who took the time to engage with each member of our legal team. We are eagerly awaiting commercial close on other projects in Bid Windows 6 and 7 as part of our mandate for Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd.

LnP Beyond Legal, a woman-led specialist legal firm committed to social justice, recently attended a ProBono workshop hosted by Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR). The workshop focused on advocating for universal access to nationality and legal status in South Africa and the SADC region. Led by Thandeka Chauke and Palesa Maloisane, the LHR Statelessness Unit advocates for the rights of both unrecognized South African citizens and non-citizens to obtain legal status. Their strategic focus is on cases involving women and children, who are disproportionately affected by the non-recognition of citizenship, leading to violations of their fundamental rights such as access to education, healthcare, and social services. Through their law clinics, Lawyers for Human Rights provides direct legal assistance, engages in strategic litigation, and conducts various advocacy and capacity-building initiatives. Notably, they are developing a feminist litigation strategy to address the gendered and intersectional impact of statelessness on women and girls. The workshop facilitated collaboration among legal professionals to tackle statelessness issues. We sorted and catalogued books, added cozy rugs and bean bags, and set up creative outdoor reading benches from repurposed tyres. We recently conducted a comprehensive training session at our firm to enhance our team's understanding of arbitration procedures and evidence presentation. The training covered key aspects such as interim measures, establishing facts of the matter, witness testimony, and hearings. Our team gained valuable insights into the process of requesting and granting interim measures, as well as the requirements for presenting evidence and witness testimony. The session emphasised the importance of adhering to procedural guidelines and the role of the Arbitral Tribunal in determining the admissibility and weight of evidence. This training reinforces our commitment to continuous learning and ensures that our team is well-equipped to handle complex arbitration cases effectively.
