This week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend an audit vacation work programme at the Forvis Mazars office in Durban. It was an enriching experience where I not only learned about the firm but also gained hands-on experience in the field of auditing. During the program, I discovered the critical importance of teamwork and effective communication skills in a professional setting. Working closely with experienced auditors and my peers, I saw firsthand how collaboration and clear communication can drive success in complex projects. Last week was an incredible experience at Forvis Mazars. I was privileged to spend a week at their offices, which included clients visits. The warm and welcoming environment made me feel like part of the team from the start. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to Forvis Mazars in South Africa, Candice Lategan, and Chuma Grey for this amazing opportunity. The entire experience was truly unforgettable, from the insightful staff meetings to the chance to connect with the talented team members. I had an absolute blast and felt so inspired by the company's energy and passion. Thank you again, Forvis Mazars in South Africa for an experience that left a lasting impression. I was particularly impressed by the team's expertise, dedication, and collaborative spirit. Everyone I met was friendly, approachable, and eager to share their knowledge. The office vibe was dynamic and inclusive, making me feel like I belonged. I appreciated the opportunity to learn about the company's values, mission, and its innovative approach to "One team". Last week event | Johannesburg | Wed 3 Jul: how to make ESG work? 📌 As a collaborative effort between the American Chamber of Commerce in South Africa, the French South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Belgian Chamber of Commerce in South Africa, with the support of our member Forvis Mazars in South Africa, we invited our members to an insightful panel discussion on the topic of ESG (Environment Sustainability Governance). 💡 Each of the speakers, Dr. Marie Parramon-Gurney, Zanelle Dalglish and Lusani Nelufule-Mugivhi highlighted the importance of an ESG policy that is endorsed by the board, attainable and adaptive to its environment. Most importantly, a successful ESG policy is one that has a true and lasting impact on the community, as shown by the work of Schneider Electric in this matter. 🙏 Thank you to our colleagues Margaux Schaubroeck and Michelle Constant for the collaboration and to Shaun Vorster, Alluta Goniwe and her team at Forvis Mazars for coordinating, facilitating and giving our members such a great platform to be informed and network.

Over the past week, I had the privilege of attending the Vac-week program at Forvis Mazars in South Africa in Cape Town. It was a great experience getting to know about Forvis Mazars in South Africa, about their work culture, work balance and most importantly more information regarding the various career paths that open in the future. We also had the opportunity to conduct some audit work for certain clients as well as meeting the clients who provided us with more information as to what their business does. A fun element over the week was the audit proposal presentation which was something new for all of us and was a big learning phase for myself. Something that stood out for me over this was the relation and trust each individual has on one another, be it professionally or personally. I would like to thank the team at Forvis Mazars in South Africa and especially to Candice Lategan, Chuma Grey for organising this amazing week for us filled with immense learning and networking.
