  • We have bid farewell to our first and oldest franchise store in Mokopane, previously known as Potgietersrus or affectionately as “Potties”.  Since its opening as a Fruit & Veg City in 1999, the store has been a cornerstone of the community. We extend our deepest gratitude to Cobus Bekker, the store’s operator and franchisee, for 25 years of unwavering hard work, dedication, and passion.  We wish you and your team all the best in your future endeavours.

  • Food Lover’s Market brings you a shopping experience like no other. As the little brand with the big heart, we have always prided ourselves on being real in everything we do – and that extends to our customers. We want to bring value into every aspect of their shopping journeys by giving them something unique: a real shopping experience.  With this campaign, we want to invite customers to turn the chore of shopping into a retail adventure by sticking to our roots – being real. A real shopping experience is in the senses… It’s being greeted by a range of endless variety. It’s in the friendly faces that greet you in every aisle. It’s in the value of everything you buy. It’s in the bag you take home, and it’s in every meal you create and in every memory you make.  Food Lover’s Market – It’s in the experience.

  • Teach a man to fish, but also teach a man to teach a man (or woman!) to fish. 😀 Train the trainer is a teaching method that develops the skills to effectively train others. It helps people learn how to pass on their knowledge and expertise to others. At Food Lover's Market, we have been running the "train the trainer' for many years and we love hearing the feedback about how the equipped facilitators go on to run their sessions with their teams.

    ✨️Releasing Inner Magic✨️

Two years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to facilitate the first "Train the Trainer" workshop for the Food Lover's Market Head Office and the Cape Town HR Retail team. Having taken 122 colleagues through this workshop since then, this group remains for me the most memorable 🫶🏼 We delved into a variety of topics, from structuring engaging presentations to handling challenging questions with confidence. Sharing my own journey and insights seemed to resonate with the group, and it felt rewarding to see the proverbial light bulbs go on as they grasped new concepts 💡 The best part was witnessing their growth throughout the workshop, from nervous introductions on day one to polished deliveries during their final presentations which simply blew me away 🎭 It was a privilege to guide such an amazing group through all things training, and I still get to hear about the inspiring workshops and sessions they get to facilitate with their own teams 🙌🏽

Supporting the development of purpose-led, values driven people and businesses

Such an ordinary picture of such an extra ordinary session! What a privilege to have Food Lover's Market Holdings co founder and CEO Brian Coppin kick off the week long Seeds of Change Supplier development programme finals, by sharing insights of his journey, the highs, the lows, the challenges, the successes and everything in between in building Food Lovers Market. Listening to our finalists introduce themselves yesterday, to hear first hand their desire not just to build businesses but create impact, leaves me in awe. In awe of the courage it takes to step away from being "employees", the relative safety of a cheque at the end of the month, to rather set foot into the unknown world of driving their own business. To push towards a dream, to listen to a whispering that has been in their hearts, to see the need for impact, for change, and to create a business that directly tackles this. That courage is infectious. Special thanks aswell to 2 of our "Alumni" Lance Quiding and Tina Long, two amazing businesses that went through the programme in 2022 and now have products on the shelves. They came to share their own stories, not always easy journeys, but like Brians, journeys filled with grit, determination and big hearts to leave an impact on our world. As always gratitide to Social Enterprise Academy South Africa for facilitating the process, with our old time friend Christoff Oosthuysen at the helm, this time supported by an old friend of mine and an incredible entrepreneur in his own right, Emile Fourie from Y-Waste. Thank you all!
