  • Making a Difference Day at Mondi Richards Bay Mill Last week, on the 26th and 27th of June, Rural Metro participated in the Making a Difference Day (MADD) at Mondi Richards Bay Mill. This inspiring two-day event is dedicated to promoting safety, health, and environmental awareness across all Mondi operations worldwide through various local activities and initiatives. At our stand, we showcased our expertise in rescue and firefighting, presenting an array of rescue tools. A highlight was our firepan demonstration, where employees and contractors participated in timed drills using fire extinguishers. The competition was fierce, and the best time per session won a prize, adding an element of excitement and motivation. Day 1 featured the use of foam in firefighting drills, while Day 2 utilized a hydrant, providing participants with hands-on experience in different firefighting techniques. Additionally, a challenge to name the fireman's personal protective equipment (PPE) was held, culminating in a lucky draw for participants. The two days were filled with informative and enjoyable interactions, emphasizing the importance of safety and preparedness. We were thrilled to contribute to such a meaningful event and look forward to continuing our partnership with Mondi in promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
