As more retailers establish online storefronts to cater to shoppers seeking convenience, the majority of South Africans still prefer shopping at physical stores. Retailers aim to blend online convenience with the trusted in-store experience, leading to the rise of omnichannel payments. Despite this, shoppers often face inconsistent experiences across different payment touchpoints. Quintin Van der linde and Don Lange from Ecentric shared their insights with Retail Brief Africa on why a shift to omnichannel payments in retail is crucial for driving efficiencies and enhancing customer experience (CX) for the future. "There can be no greater gift than that of giving one's time and energy to helping others without expecting anything in return” - Nelson Mandela At Ecentric, there could not be greater time to give than NOW! After the devastating storm that swept through the Cape, leaving many of our communities without a roof over their head, Ecentric's team has filled Jars of Hope in honour of Mandela Day. Our team contributed to filling the jars, each designed to feed a family of four, and delivered them to those in need. Our team opened their hearts and gave in the utmost way they could. As a team, we are reminded that: Together, we can make a difference. 🩵 #MandelaDay #CommunitySupport

Our team had the incredible opportunity to attend the recent Visa Payments Forum in Istanbul, where over 800 attendees from 50+ markets gathered for insightful sessions. Joining the ranks of global payment leaders, our CEO, Hassen Sheik, and Customer Experience Executive, Andrew Wilmot, represented Ecentric to explore payments innovation at a global level. The conference highlighted the importance of creating seamless payments, driving digitisation, and targeting Gen Z as emerging spenders. We delved into AI's impact on payments and the evolving relationship between banks and fintechs. With a strong focus on SMEs and micro merchants, we explored how to unlock the payment ecosystem at each merchant level. Key takeaways included Visa's strategies for enhancing customer experience, removing e-commerce friction, and responding to regulatory changes. It's clear that businesses prioritising Customer Experience are set to lead the payment industry. Ecentric is excited to implement these insights to continue driving growth and innovation in our own payment solutions! #Visa #Payments #Innovation #CustomerExperience #DigitalPayments #Ecentric #SeamlessPayments

In today's multichannel world, customers can pay online, in-store, on various devices, and through different platforms. While convenience is key, managing these options is costly and complex for retailers. As a result, many retailers are seeking a single vendor for all payment-related needs, creating synergy across in-person retail and ecommerce platforms. Gary Bowers, Product Manager, and Shaun Shehab, Senior Sales Engineer at Ecentric, discuss how retailers can transition from multichannel to true omnichannel payment experiences for their customers.
