Our Africanbank movement is guided by strategy and a banking heritage unlike any other. When we adopted our Excelerate25 strategy , we plotted an audacious course towards the vision of Dr Sam Motsuenyane, and our pioneering founders: a bank for the people, by the people, serving the people.
The success of our strategic journey will rely on many crucial factors, and that includes winning the war for talent. At Africanbank, we believe that with experienced and dynamic leaders at the forefront of our movement, we can drive greater innovation and enhance our customer-centric focus. And so, we have worked hard to create an environment in which our Africanbank employees can thrive, where they can feel supported as they strive to reach their full potential, and where they are inspired to take ownership of our vision at a bank that was built for them.
I am therefore immensely proud of Dr Asanda Heshula Nesindande , who achieved a Doctor of Philosophy in Strategic Human Resources Management, through the University of Johannesburg. Dr Asanda also holds a Master of Commerce in Leadership Performance and Change, a BA Honours in Human Resources Management, and a BTECH Degree in Human Resources Management.
Her doctoral thesis proposed an integrated framework for talent management in digital banking, one that will allow the implementation of talent management practices that are aligned with the new world of work, driven by digital transformation.
We are delighted to have been a part of Dr Nesindande’s successful PhD journey. Through our internal Bursary Programme, Africanbank was able to fund her studies. We have the Audacity to Believe in our employees, and back their career and academic aspirations.
I am especially excited about Dr Nesindande’s study, and her insight and expertise will prove crucial as we continuously refine our People Practices, remain future-fit, and respond to the demands and opportunities of digitalisation.
