Van Leeuwen Ice Cream - Brooklyn Bridge Park

Very cute little spot near the ferry in Dumbo! I don't normally hang out in Brooklyn, so I'm trying to find new cute spots around the areas I explore. We walked into this ice cream shop because we were both craving a good scoop. We were pleasantly surprised to see all the different variety. There were some vegan scoops and gluten-free scoops labeled and they gave free samples as well. Ice cream scoops we got were pretty good my only true complaint is that it's so expensive! Seven dollars for one scoop is pretty pricy, but gottta remember it's Dumbo, so it's gonna be.

Overall, it was good, and if I feel like a big bowling on ice cream again, I would come back.

This Van Leeuwen location is conveniently located at the Brooklyn Bridge Park, which is perfect to enjoy and stroll along the promenade. The place is busy, but the employees are patient. We were able to sample a few flavors with the employees even recommending flavors for us.

I decided on the Double Scoop with Sugar Cone (~$9). It's a bit pricey, but they have so many flavors with seasonal ones that are super unique. My favorite is the honeycomb that is always on the menu, especially with the bits of honeycomb to give it a nice crunch to the creaminess. Also had the brown sugar cookie brownie flavor, which was a nice combination of flavors. It's honestly so difficult to choose because they have so many different and fun flavors on the menu.

Had a great experience yesterday. There was a line to get into the shop. But the line went very quickly. Once inside the staff was very quick and helpful in choosing a flavor. You can also ask for a sample. Only thing is I wish they had plastic throwaway spoons for the sample...just saying.
Anyway we got double chocolate fudge brownie in a waffle cones. It was so delicious!
Will definitely be back.
Great way to start the summer on the 1st day of the Memorial Day weekend.

Whenever I'm feeling lazy but want a decadent chocolate fudge brownie, I come here and it always satisfies. When I'm feeling super PMSy, I swear it goes right to the ovaries and I can hear them say "ahhhh" with joy. Also a fan of their seasonal flavors that rotate monthly, but that chocolate fudge brownie is year-round!

Van Leeuwen has great ice cream with lots of fun flavors to pick from, my favorite being the honeycomb fudge ripples. They use high-quality ingredients and the waffle cones are always fresh. This particular location is in a convenient spot and it's a cute building, but the line was super long (although, it was a sunny, 70° Sunday) and their AC wasn't on. It was SO hot in there.

Our server allowed us to sample the flavors we wanted. Was very patient and quick to serve and cash us out.

Not very busy though it was a rainy cold day. I can see how this can be a hot spot on a warm day especially with the view by the water. A nice spot to enjoy your ice cream.

I loved the flavor I chose and one scoop was more than enough. The waffle cone is huge!

watch out for the wannabe with the ponytail, paid for two scoops, got two spoons. Need to bring the chipotle trend here.

The first time I had Van Leeuwen Ice Cream was from their Ice Cream truck in NYC. I noticed there was an affogato, espresso poured over ice cream. Talk about heaven? Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, I think heaven is you! We've been to this location and I thought I wrote a review but here's my latest review for 2023.

Walking in the store late Saturday afternoon, we're faced with a line. To me, not big deal. The smell of fresh waffles while waiting is intoxicating. Looking at the menu choices, chocolate fudge honeycomb was calling me, is it vegan? As we move through the line, a gentleman behind the counter says: if you don't want a taste, please move to the front of the line.

Now we slide by and I say, Xcuse me suckas as we head to the front of the line. My wife placed her order but told me to order something she likes so she can have a taste, yes dear.

I ordered a waffle cone with my base of chocolate fudge and my favorite, Cookies & Cream on top.

We walk outside, man that is some righteous ice cream!

I love the unique flavors and the fresh tasting ice cream. I'm a total fan of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

Van Leeuwen has always been my favorite ice cream chain! The flavors are unique and the ice cream itself is super creamy -- this location was no exception. Right on the Dumbo waterfront, this Van Leeuwen has such a cute pink interior and the staff were super helpful.

We ended up here because the line at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory was ridiculously long, but I think this place is actually the better choice between the two. Definitely recommend eating your ice cream on the benches right along the water for amazing views of the city!

The team has such a flow of talent with tending to their customers in such a timely manner!
