While visiting the lululemon store recently in Palm Desert I made a comment that I wished they had more men's product. The employee said that Lululemon has a men's store in SOHO. Since we were going to be in NYC the following week we decided to check it out.
We were greeted upon entering. Molly and a few others helped us. She explained that they had a Joinery in the back and any item could be altered. This worked out great as I found a pair of shorts but I like them to be a little above the knee.
I am obsessed with this product. I have tried it in the past and it didn't fit right. Whatever the change to the style, it is working for me! And the fabrics/materials are so unique in the sports fitness world. I'm shocked more guys aren't on the bus with this product!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Brian A.Brookline, MA041Sep 17, 2017
Ageism -If you're over 40 (maybe even 35) years old, don't expect to go in here and be treated well or at all. I was pretty incensed when I left here and wondered why I even gave them a second chance.
I've been in here twice and no one has even acknowledged despite the fact that i browsed for 15 minutes. I walked from the front to the back of the store passing handfuls of employees talking with each other and happily greeting (not so much as a greeting for me either time) and helping anyone 30 years or younger.
At the ripe age of 45 I'm still running eight minute miles so it's not as if I wouldn't fit in their clothes. I thought this is worth mentioning since it's common knowledge that in their women's stores they don't sell anything over the size of 12 because it costs too much money and that their founder once said "Frankly some women's bodies just don't actually work for it." In this case I can only deduce that the problem for them was not my weight/shape but likely my age since that was the only thing that set me apart from the Millennials that they see as their target consumers, or in my two experiences, their only consumers.
It's not as if the fabrics and materials the clothes are made of are self-explanatory. The labels explain them briefly but not sufficiently and I know this because that was the only source of information readily available to me and I read many of them each time looking around to make eye contact with one of their 6-8 underworked employees on the floor.
I don't mind running and jogging pants and a T-shirt but I wanted to see what hi-tech sportswear would do for me. I guess I'll have to wait until ATHLETA opens up a men's store because I won't be darkening Lululemon's doorstep again. I prefer to do business with companies that care about their customers. Power to the He, baby!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Rob P.New York, NY14913491Apr 29, 2016
I had three Lululemon gift cards from years ago... I wasn't sure if they expired. I went into the Broadway location first (they directed me to this store for mens). I don't understand why some of the previous reviews are claiming that the staff was unhelpful because the exact opposite happened to me. Not only was the staff helpful, they were friendly, left me alone when I needed to look on my own, and gave me some very helpful tips about washing instructions.
From the moment I stepped into both locations, I was warmly greeted and welcomed into the stores. I asked about the gift cards being very old and the girl who helped me checked each card on the store computer. She wrote the value of each card for me and told me that they never expire and I could go on a shopping spree.
I bought several pants and a few shirts. The ABC pants fit very nice and are comfortable. I like how Lululemon clothing fits on my body without being too restrictive. Also, even though a lot of their clothing is designed for active wear, the style and cuts of their clothing look nice enough for semi-casual business wear.
The Prince Street location has the coolest changing rooms! They actually decorate their changing room with an industrial style that I thought was fun.
Added bonuses at this location: They will alter your pants for free and have an in-house tailor. You can even wait for them to alter your pants, or come back the next day or two depending on how busy they are.
Overall, their prices are not cheap, but their clothes last a long time, fit perfectly so I felt I'm getting what I'm paying for. The staff gave me some helpful tips about washing and were super friendly.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - James S.Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles, CA01Feb 7, 2017
Wouldn't take an exchange from Christmas...
Not a return, an exchange... absolutely ridiculous.
Was planning to exchange 1 shirt for potentially 3-5 items likely of significantly greater value. Now I'm wondering if I really want to give this company my money at all. Ever.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sky A.New York, NY4862Oct 25, 2017
I know this seems cliche but I have purchased Lulu before and then tried some other brands-- but in the end always come back to Lulu. Yes they are a little expensive compared to what you can get online and other retailers but between the service and quality- I think this is actually a value for money. My only criticism is that sometime I do get a snobby sales person at their stores-- like their time is more valuable than mine or just snobby in general-- but that not the norm- mostly they are lovely and enthusiastic.

The merchandise is great and fabulous and I just think that the customer service needs a little help since you have to really go out of your way to have someone help you.

Awesome to finally have an all men's store! Very high end neighborhood so it fits right in. Staff is cool and they have their own sewing machine. They just opened and they said a women's only will open across the street in February

I think historically, I always give lululemon stores 5 stars. There's really nothing ever wrong with them (minus the price? but there really is a difference when working out with lululemon gear and then nike or UA) and the educators are always there to help you find stuff or give advice on what you should be using the gear for.
This store is no different... other than the fact that it's apparently the ONLY one in the United States!! Say whaaaat?
I asked the educators what makes this store different? Apparently you can get some random colors that the website might not have and they have almost any size you'd need in store compared to a regular lululemon store that sells stuff for guys and girls. He did say that the website does have a greater selection than the SOHO store.
Also, the iconic red lululemon bag has been replaced with a very subdued black lululemon back. Definitely looks subtle and there's some novelty in the fact that the only stores that do the black bags are the SOHO men's store and the one in ?San Diego?
Anyway, if you're in SOHO and rock the lulu then check it out, if not then it's nothing to fly all the way out to NYC for, just go to the website!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erica S.Brooklyn, NY90150544Jun 5, 2017
Pretty EPIC experience at this location. Was about to leave after a friend bought a shirt but it started raining so we turned around and did some more shopping. Asked if they had any high impact sports bras and the girl who I asked jumped up and down and ran with me to a new product that they had. Then another sales girl came over and explained the product to me. She said they had been working on it for 3 years and it had so many features. I tried it on and did like it. Staff was so attentive. I did not end up buying the item because they did not have my correct size but I may order it online in the future. I think Erika, Rea and another girl had helped me. They also all loved a shirt I was wearing and we talked a bit about where to get it. Thanks so much for this great experience! Felt like I was shopping with just a bigger group of my girlfriends.
