Nestled against Madonna Mountain, Lincoln Market & Deli is a corner market, 2 blocks from downtown San Luis Obispo located just off highway 101 at the Broad St. exit. Lincoln Market was built in 1941 and was famously known as Ellsworth's Market, San Luis Obispo's original grocer and butcher. Lincoln Market is most known for its deli - A large selection of unique specialty sandwiches using local artisan baked bread and quality meats and cheeses. The sandwiches are substantial and customized any way you'd like. Lincoln also has house-made deli salads, soups, entree salads and fantastic desserts. To go along with SLO's best sandwich, is one of the finest selection of craft beers and local wines on the central coast. Drink here, or take it home. For the morning, Lincoln Market also serves daily made pastries from Backporch Bakery, breakfast sandwiches and organic locally roasted Joebella coffee. Eat Good Food.

I passed through SLO last week and needed a quick spot to grab a bite with friends. Thankfully one of the people I was with recommended Lincoln Market and Deli.
Upon arriving we ordered our sandwiches at the door with the hostess. I was thrilled to see there were salad options as well as gluten free bread for sandwiches. Menus were clearly labeled with vegan and vegetarian items as well.
While we waited for our food we wandered around the indoor store, which is absolutely adorable. The store features local hand crafted goods with everything from coffee, to jewelery), as well as grab and go items ranging from chips to soaps. I could spend an hour just looking around at all the store had to offer, but our food was ready quickly so I only had a few minutes to check everything out.
My sandwich was incredible. Truly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The Community Garden sandwich that I enjoyed is vegan, and can easily be made on gluten free bread. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and it was stuffed full of veggies.
I want to go back to SLO next time i'm in the area just so I can go to Lincoln Market & Deli!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 436119588Jun 10, 2024
Hot take is Lincoln deli is better than high street lol
Located right next to the freeway entrance/exit lincoln deli is both a mini mart and a sandwich place. With a huge customizable menu.
It is more organized where a attendant will take ur order outside before letting u in, and then you can browse the mini mart as they make your order (15-20min) depending on how busy it is.
Once your order is ready you can go and pay alongside what you see from the mini mart
Overall one of the many great sandwich places in SLO
Parking might be hard but nothing wrong with walking a few blocksHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 16, 2024Updated review
So disappointing. I drove from Pismo specifically to eat here. Ordered tuna on sour dough with lettuce tomato avo cucumber and sprouts. The tuna maker blew it. It was just a wet mushy mess that soaked through the bread. The mayo was super sweet and tasted like Miracle Whip which I hate. The add ons seemed to be mixed in instead of laid on. I didn't want to deal with complaining so I threw it all away and left. Bummer.

I was craving a BLT with avocado and it was on the menu. No wait to order. Crunchy sour dough. Thick slices of bacon. Tomatoes lettuce and avocado. Huge enough for two people but I choaked the entire sandwich down. Plenty of comfortable seating inside. Haha. Definitely will become a regular SLO stop for me.

Never had a bad meal here. Great menu, short wait time between 11:30 & 1:00. One of my favorite lunch spots. Parking can be a bitch at times.

The most fire breakfast burrito I never knew I needed. It was crips, well-textured, and actually easy to eat because it was panini pressed flat. Compliments to the sauce as well. The ordering system was a little strange and unclear, but despite the many people here the service was relatively fast and there was seating for all. Would love to come back and try some of their other sandwiches if I'm back in SLO

We stopped by for bfast as we have a daughter that attends CPSLO. No shortage of Mustangs and their parents fo sho!, patronizing the place! Bfast sammiches are amazing! There was also a coffee pop-up operating out of a VW Vanagon! Coffee was amazing! All the popular options he offered! Outdoor seating aplenty, but depending on crowd size, may have to wait for spots to open up. I will now let my pix do the talking. Definitely highly recommend this establishment.

Some may poo-poo the prices, but in my opinion, you get your money's worth. This establishment offers something for every interest and appetite. The menu is extensive and full of options for carnivores and vegetarians. The cooler is stocked with varieties of every type of beverage, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. The pinball games are a fun option, and there is plenty of seating, inside or outside. I would encourage anyone who appreciates a good sandwich to swing by and try their wares. Oh, I almost forgot. Tots...delicious,delicious Tots.

From the variety of sandwiches, to the quality of the ingredients, to the variety of beers...this is the spot. The service here was great, and the atmosphere was pleasant with the variety of classic rock they play. The options of sitting outside or inside is nice as well. Let's not forget either that they have a nice selection of pinball to have a beer with. Both menus for the hot and cold sandwiches are a variety to meet any palate's needs. As well you can build your own sandwich, and also a small grocery area with various goods for purchase. Stop in for a lil somethin' somethin'....well worth it
