At Castello di Amorosa we produce wines representative of the world's great wines, while specifically reflecting California's unique climate and growing conditions. These wines are classically structured, delicious and showcase the unique characteristics of their individual "Terroir", or vineyard site. In this way one can experience the flavor and aromas of the vineyard itself. We are committed to using traditional approaches to the craft of wine growing and wine making, but also incorporate modern techniques and equipment when it improves quality. Our Italian inspired wines include: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Rosato di Sangiovese, Gewurztraminer and "Dolcino" Gewurztraminer, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cab/Merlot Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, La Castellana Reserve Super Tuscan Blend, Il Barone Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Moscato Canelli, La Fantasia Red Wine, Il Passito Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon and Late Harvest Reserve Gewurztraminer.

Is it free to just walk around and take pictures on the outside without entering the winery?

I just went in June and they have a check-in booth as soon as you get onto the property. Without a reservation, they will not let you pass. Pre-covid, they didn't have a… more

I've been here over 50+ times now and I absolutely love it.
The views are gorgeous and the castle is just so beautiful. I also signed up for the monthly wine shipping club so I can enjoy their wines all year long.
I just visited a couple of days ago with my family and some cousins who live abroad. They love it here and had a great time.

If you want to visit, you have to make an online reservation or you can purchase some of their wine bottles so you can enter. It's absolutely beautiful here. You'll love it.

Castello do Amorosa is built in a shape of a castle. We wanted to show the castle to our LO. To our disappointment, the doorman/ bouncer wouldn't let us drive up to the castle. We assured him that, we used to be members at the Castle We also said that we don't plan to wine taste- we just want to drive up next to the castle so that LO can see how an actual European castle looks like. Our request was rudely denied. This was immensely disappointing.

I have since unsubscribed from all Castello di Anorosa's communications as I don't wish to hear from an entity that won't let me in the building.

      Overall, we won't be back.

Great wine is stored behind these walls.

My boyfriend and I did the guided tour where we could walk around the castle. I'm so glad that we chose this option because we were able to see much more of the castle. Irina (our tour guide) was amazing!!! She was very knowledgeable and included each person into the conversation. We completed the wine tasting at the end and she tailored it to what we preferred. I was surprised that I fell in love with two of the wines, as I'm not a huge wine drinker. I mostly went to view the castle. The Fantasia Frizzante-style Rosé was my favorite and I also enjoyed the Harvest Gewurtztraminer Anderson Valley.

I am very sad because I am putting the wines away and the staff mixed up our wine. They gave us a bottle of the Pinot Blanco instead of the Rosé. I wish the castle was closer so I could exchange the bottle, but unfortunately it's about a 2 hr drive from me. This is the only reason I am giving the castle a 4 instead of 5 stars. Such an amazing experience overall and I highly recommend a visit.

Gorgeous setting, underwhelming experience. The winery itself is stunning, with picturesque views that make for great photos. However, it's clear they prioritize quantity over quality. The tasting room was overcrowded, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the wines. There was no personalized attention, and the staff seemed rushed and disinterested in providing any information about the wines or the history of the winery.

To add to the disappointment, they don't allow you to walk around the property with your wine, limiting your ability to explore the beautiful grounds. It felt like a missed opportunity to truly appreciate the experience. If you're looking for a quick tasting and some Instagram-worthy shots, this might be your spot. But for a more intimate and informative wine experience, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Recently visited Calistoga and reserved a wine tasting and tour of the castle. So glad we did, what a beautiful property! The castle and tunnels are so cool to check out and the surroundings are breathtaking. Wine wasn't my favorite but it's worth it to visit just for the views. Highly recommend.

This was my 2nd visit because I loved it when I came a few years ago. And I still enjoyed my visit for the most part and love the beautiful castle and their wines. I took 2 stars off because of our server. I can't remember his name. But he was so judgey the fact that my friend didn't drink wine. She has medical conditions where she can't have alcohol. And she still paid good money for the wine tasting because I really wanted to go. Have no idea why he was making rude, judgey comments.

And even for me, he poured random 2 glasses of wine that I didn't ask for. Before i had a chance to tell him I don't like rose or white wine. And when I asked for wines I wanted to taste, he was like oh you don't like pinot? I was gonna have to try that next.

It was such a drastic experience from our visit a few years ago. We had a great server back then, who really cared about what we wanted to try. So disappointed with the service we received this time around.

Thought it was overpriced for the amount of wine given and crackers were stale but the winery itself is quite gorgeous. Can be quite noisy indoors. Outdoors is nice, but there are no views. You choose which wines you want. Had a good mix of still and sparkling wines (rose, champagne) if you like less of an alcoholic taste. Great estate.

We had the same waiter for the duration of our tasting who was helpful in describing the wines.

Apparently reservations are needed for wine tasting. Luckily, there was still space available. It was $60 per person for wine tasting. The charcuterie box was $35.

My favorite wine is the La Fantasia. It is only sold at this winery. I will return to purchase for pick up.

Overall, this was a pleasant wine tasting experience. The scenery was breathtaking.

Bummed that you'll never receive your Hogwarts letter or be Daenerys Targaryen? Castello di Amorosa, built in 2007, might not be magical or historic, but it satisfies the urge to luxuriate in a (replica) medieval castle, if just for the day.

However, the parking attendant will only allow your car to proceed to the castle's parking lot once you've shown proof of a pre-paid reservation.

My group did the Seated Tasting Experience in the courtyard -- $60 for five tastings. I'm not a wine drinker & I especially despise the taste of red wine but the sweeter whites, rose, & sparkling varieties were okay by me. Dolcino, La Fantasia, & Moscato were easy drinkin' so we picked up a few bottles; they're perfect summer beverages for al fresco dining.

Included in the price of our ticket is access to the tower which has lovely vineyard views, chapel, Great Hall, & gift shop, spread out across two floors. Areas such as the torture chamber are only accessible to those in a guided tour group.

Getting tipsy in a modern-day castle complete with moat & drawbridge -- are we in Napa Valley or Winterfell?

Came here for a bachelorette tasting. Cindy was our guide and she was hilarious. I love her sense of humor. Her tour leading skills are impeccable. She was through answering our many questions. The castle is so lovely. It has old world charm and it was the highlight of our weekend. We all wish we could have stayed there longer.
Any visit to wine country requires a stop here.
The salted chocolate was my absolute favorite. (Not much of a wine gal, but one of the reds was wonderful, but I don't remember the name!)
