Well...my co-worker friend told me about this place, and told me the lines are crazy. Must be good right? Well, that's an insulting understatement. Just the best ice cream I ever had!! Sure, Talenti is great for supermarket ice cream, and Amorino's is truly high grade as well...but this is on whole other level. It's ice cream as art, and a dessert caliber worthy of the mythological gods of Mount Olympus. Truly the best and I only sampled two (White chocolate with Almonds and Coconut, Macadamia Cream). Looking forward to trying others the next chance I get.

I was in the neighborhood for a facial appointment after work when I noticed that there was a line outside a store. When I saw that they sold gelato, I just got on the line myself because I thought that the gelato must be good if there is this much people waiting to buy some. I was trying to check each flavor that was available and before I knew it, I was next in line so it wasn't much of a wait. I felt like I was in a game show where I had 60 seconds to make my choice since there were many others behind me waiting. The ones that I wanted to try immediately were the Pavlova Berry Mix and the Chocolate Pistachio. The staff must have been angels because that combo was a taste of heaven or at least they served like angels because they gave me a generous portion of each flavor. There was so much that at one point I had to eat it faster since it was melting onto my hand.

I plan on going back next month to try more flavors but I might do 2 flavors a month because it comes out to about $9, which in my opinion is expensive no matter in what the economy may be.

Writing this literally two minutes after going in there.
Let me start by saying that I love Anita gelato and I have been in many locations, but this experience is the worst.
The line is a mess because they will take your order the moment you walk in, without letting you look at all the flavors. The moment you ask for a minute to choose, you lose your chance to order. My brother knew what he wanted so he was able to order. I, on the other hand, was left there hanging. I was ignored for a good 5 minutes, and the moment that I caught the attention of one of the guys he decided he was talking to somebody that was in there way later than me.
At that point I was frustrated and decided to only pay for my brother's gelato.
The lady at the cashier asked me if that was all and I made sure to let her know what happened. She had the audacity to answer "maybe next time!"
      Next time? Are you serious?
I think she hadn't heard what I said, because then she said "do you want me to get an order for you?"
To which I answered "no thank you, I'm pissed off now". I smiled and I left.

      I'm seriously so sad.
Their gelato tastes good, just make sure you know what you want I guess...

Anita Gelato was some of the better gelato I've ever had! We were on the lookout for a sweet treat late at night, and I'm glad we decided to try out Anita since they were one of the few that was open late. They have tons of flavor options, and the ones I tried/ordered had a very creamy texture and amazing deep flavor. I was very happy with my choices!

Staff was friendly and let us sample multiple flavors without an issue. The line was very long when we went and it can be quite crowded inside, so keep that in mind as well.

Coming to Anita was one of the highlights of my NYC trip, even though it's JUST gelato. My partner and I stood in line for 10-15 minutes, which gave us enough time to walk up and down the many tubs of gelato and decide which fancy flavors we wanted. There are so many options.

We ended up getting 3 scoops: Roasted Pistachio, Hazelnut Mousse & Chocolate Crunch, and Macadamia Cream. I think I liked them in that order but can't remember. Obviously the theme of our selection was NUTS. Definitely coming back every time I visit NYC in the future.

Going to Anita's is like going to the ice cream version of a candy store.

I would always come here as a nice treat to myself when I was in the area more often. There's always a long line, but don't be alarmed! The line moves relatively quickly.

You'll be drawn to their beautiful display of mountainous heaps of gelatos...and everything has this nice glossy look to it. They also have a variety of new gelato flavors that keeps me coming back to try something novel.

The employees do allow you to sample flavors and you can also mix different flavors in a cup. It's a bit pricey but I think the portions are well worth it, and each gelato comes with a nice waffle cookie.

They have a few tables indoors and a long bar in the back. In nicer weather, they also have an outdoor seating area. Definitely worth checking out!

This place is gelato galoree! So many options and the staff is very nice to let you try whatever you want. I always get a bit overwhelmed but honestly every scoop I've had, I was never disappointed here! To name a few, I like the classic vanilla, stracciatella, cookie man and even the pineapple. I usually get one or two scoops - pretty pricey like others have mentioned, but an amazing dessert option if you're ever eating in the area.

Don't be intimidated by the line bc by the time you have tried all the flavors you're interested in and decide what to get, you will be at the front!

Obsessed with Anita! I found it in NY first and then went to the San Juan location recently! The stores are all so cute! They have so many flavors it's so hard to choose. Recently had the white chocolate pistachio & it's my new fav!

I finally got a chance to try this place out. The line was always long whenever I passed by it so I decided to go on a weekday around 15:00 which had a short line. I love how they have other flavors you don't normally see in other gelato shop. I got the strawberry which was rich in strawberry and you can see the little seeds in it. I also had the chocolate hazelnut flavor and yummmm. It was super nutty. I noticed that they'll drizzle more chocolate on the gelato inside the case. I guess this is to ensure if anyone got a chocolate covered gelato, they'll always have chocolate in their scoop no matter how many people ordered it before them which is a smart idea. I definitely can't wait to come back to try the other flavors. Price is around $9 for a small. So pick your flavors wisely!
