Dallastown used long postseason runs in several girls' sports and won nine overall division titles to remain the most successful athletic program for the 2023-24 YAIAA season.

The Wildcats finished with an overall record of 307-125, including all postseason games, which equaled a league-best .716 winning percentage and 307 total points. Central York was second at 281 points and followed by South Western (258), York Suburban (223) and Susquehannock (198.5) to round out the top five.

Red Lion (195.5), Delone Catholic and Northeastern (189.5), New Oxford (183.5) and Bermudian Springs (175) made up the rest of the top 10.

Point totals were reached by awarding a full point for each win and a half point for each tie.

Dallastown used long runs in girls' volleyball, basketball and lacrosse to edge South Western, 139-134, in overall girls' success. South Western rode its softball team's run to the state semifinals to close the gap.

Dallastown's Kira Lynch (21), Annabell Criswell (5) and Elizabeth Bloss (7) react after completing a sweep over Central York in a YAIAA Division I volleyball match Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, in Dallastown. The Wildcats won, 25-8, 25-20, 25-20.

On the boys' side, Central York's basketball state championship and volleyball run into the state semifinals helped the Panthers snare the most points (183.5) ahead of Dallastown (157) and South Western (124).

The York-Adams league offers competition in 23 sports, and many schools compete in all of them. York High and York County Tech offer 10 and 12, respectively, the least amount in the league. Most schools participate in at least 15 sports.

Because the number of teams a school supports can have a direct link to its point total, we also look at the average number of wins a school has per team. Dallastown (13.35), South Western (12.24) and Central York (12.17) still held down the top three spots, but the rest of the top 10 was different.

Delone Catholic came in fourth with an average of 10.44 wins among its 18 teams. The Squires were followed by Bermudian Springs (10.24 wins for 17 teams), York Suburban (10.01 wins for 22 teams), York Catholic (10 wins for 16 teams), Northeastern (9.30 wins for 20 teams), Susquehannock (8.95 wins for 22 teams) and Red Lion (8.48 wins for 23 teams).
