16-year-old Lamine Yamal's equalizer helped lift Spain past France in Tuesday afternoon's Euro Tournament semifinal match — just days before the Spanish striker's 17th birthday no less.
The Barcelona prodigy fired a cracker of a shot from well outside the penalty area in the 21st minute, ricocheting the ball off the left post and into the net past French goaltender Mike Maignan to level the score at 1-1.

At 16 years and 361 days, Yamal passes Switzerland's Johan Vonlanthen who scored at the age of 18 years and 141 days at Euro 2004.
Spain appeared to be reeling before Yamal's equalizer, having given up an 8th minute score from Randal Kolo Muani which gave France a 1-0 lead.

Kolo Muani's opener, assisted by Kylian Mbappe, was the first goal France had scored from open play during the entire tournament.
Spain immediately followed up Yamal's history-making goal with a go-ahead score in the 25th minute from midfielder Dani Olmo, who sent a ball off French defender Jules Kounde's foot into his own net.
