Jack “Goose” Givens book signing coming to Pineville
PINEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The Cumberland Valley East UK Alumni Club is partnering with Kentucky basketball legend Jack “Goose” Givens for a book signing in Eastern Kentucky.
Givens will be signing his book “They Call Me Goose: My Life in Kentucky Basketball and Beyond” at the Pine Mountain State Park Lodge from 6-7:30 p.m. on July 24.
Givens played for the Wildcats from 1975-78 and was named the Helms National Player of the Year during the 1977-78 season after dropping a career-high 41 points on Duke, helping Kentucky to the 1978 National Championship. Afterward, Givens was drafted No. 16 overall in the 1978 NBA Draft by Atlanta.
The Lexington native currently serves as a Kentucky basketball commentator for the UK Sports Network.
