HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - After seeing a line of thunderstorms pushing through Eastern Kentucky, we have finally cleared out for the evening and overnight hours.

The Weekend

This weekend looks to be pleasant with a sunny sky and dry weather with temperatures in the mid to high 80′s as high pressure sets in. A few AM pop-up showers are possible early Saturday but other than than it will remain clear.

Looking Ahead

More precipitation is expected as we move into the next work week with slight to scattered chances throughout the early part of the week. Tuesday has the most confidence forecast-wise when it comes to rainfall chances but the chance for summer “popcorn” showers remains in the forecast.

ORIGINAL STORY: The WYMT First Alert Weather Team is tracking a line of storms moving through Central Kentucky into parts of Eastern Kentucky as we move into the afternoon.

A level 2 out of 5 slight risk has been issued for parts of Eastern Kentucky for strong winds with gusts up to 65+ miles per hour.

Heavy rains are associated with this system and stronger storms will have heavier downpours.

While storms may still form after the stronger line of storms they are not predicted to be as strong or as widespread as the earlier round.
