WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Monticello man was arrested after police found drugs in the vehicle he was in.

The incident happened Tuesday night when Wayne County deputies noticed that a vehicle had committed a traffic violation.

After the vehicle turned into a McDonald’s parking lot, a deputy K-9 detected and alerted other deputies about narcotics inside of it.

During a vehicle search, deputies found two small zip-lock baggies containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine along with several small plastic bags.

Police also found a set of digital scales and three hypodermic syringes.

Larry J. Pyles Jr., of Monticello, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, careless driving, failure to produce an insurance card and failure to wear a seat belt.

Pyles was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center.
