Clay County man facing sexual abuse charges

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Manchester man was taken to jail after police said he reportedly attempted to sexually assault a minor.
Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call on Tuesday.
After deputies arrived at a hospital, a woman told police that her daughter had been sexually abused.
After taking statements from the woman, police were also told that Johnny Johnson took the minor to a store to get a vape.
Once Johnson and the minor left the store, Johnson then took the minor to Cotton Bend Road, where he attempted to sexually assault her.
Johnson was charged with sexual abuse in the first degree.
He was taken to the Clay County Detention Center.
