Sydney Sullivan

Meteorologist

Sydney Sullivan joined WYFF 4 in June 2021 as weekend morning meteorologist on WYFF News 4 Today. Born and raised in Kennesaw, Georgia, she is no stranger to the south and is excited to be so close to family. Sydney’s fascination with weather began on a childhood family vacation when, much to her disappointment, stormy weather interrupted her plans to hit the beach. She remembers her grandmother saying, “you can’t control the weather” and that one statement sparked Sydney’s interest in learning all things weather. Her uncle, Meteorologist James-Paul Dice, was also influential in guiding and pushing her to follow her passion of weather.

Sydney graduated with a degree in Communication Media Studies from Kennesaw State University in 2016. Then, following her love for weather, she earned a second bachelor’s degree in meteorology from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2019. Sydney also had the opportunity to do two college internships; one with WSBTV in Atlanta and the other with WESH in Orlando, also owned by WYFF’s parent company Hearst. After graduation, Sydney’s career took her to Syracuse, New York, where she spent two years tracking storms in one of the snowiest cities in the country.

Sydney spent 20 years of her life dancing and had the opportunity to be a part of the Kennesaw State Dance Team in college. She also competed at the Miss Georgia Pageant, earning a non-finalist talent award for her performance of Via Dolorosa. Sydney has a special place in her heart for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and is actively involved in bringing awareness to this charity.

She is also an avid traveler and has visited more than 30 countries with her family. Sydney considers herself a very adventurous person and is always exploring and trying new things, including skydiving and flying lessons. Sydney is thrilled to be back down south and is excited to show her family around the area.

Please say hello, if you ever see Sydney out and about. She is always open to recommendations of things to see and do around Greenville!
