Destiny Chance

Destiny Chance is morning anchor for WYFF News 4 Today. She was born and raised in South Carolina. Greenville is Destiny’s hometown, where she graduated from J.L. Mann High School. Destiny also graduated from the University of South Carolina. While at the UofSC she interned at WYFF News 4 and earned a WYFF News 4 scholarship.

Before her move back home, Destiny was a weekend evening anchor and reporter for FOX 7 Austin in Texas. She was nominated for the 22nd annual Austin Under 40 Awards, and was a 2019 honoree in Austin Black Business Journal’s 2019 achievements in Black Austin. Prior to Austin, Destiny was a morning anchor at the FOX affiliate in Augusta, Georgia where she helped launch “FOX 54 News Now”. She was voted "Best Female News Anchor" by the readers of Augusta Magazine in 2017. Before moving to Georgia, Destiny was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WACHFOX 57. She launched the morning traffic segment called "Traffic WACH". Destiny won an RTDNAC award for "Best Light Feature" in 2015, and has covered some of the biggest stories in the state including Emmanuel 9 in Charleston, the removal of the Confederate Flag, and SC’s historic flooding in 2015.

In 2022, Destiny was recognized for her interview with retired educator Pearlie Harris in Oprah Winfrey’s newest book, “Lift Every Voice” – a collection of powerful interviews with the oldest generation of Black Americans about their experiences, and the wisdom that can carry us to a better future. Winfrey says the interviews were conducted by a brilliant team of young Black journalists, many from historically Black colleges and universities. The portraits were created by the next generation of Black photographers. The portfolio is being published across all Hearst magazines, with additional interviews on Hearst television stations and in Hearst newspapers, and OprahDaily.com, where they will live as a testament to the strength f the stories behind them---and triumphant beginning for a new generation of journalists.

Destiny loves spending time with her loved ones. Destiny’s husband is also from the Upstate. They welcomed their first child in February 2021.
