Marc Whiteman

Sports Director

Marc Whiteman joined the WYFF News 4 team as the Sports Director in September of 2019, and expanded his role to the anchor desk for WYFF News 4 at 5 beginning in 2024. You can find him on air each and every night during the week at 5, 6 and 11.

A native of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Marc earned a bachelor's degree in telecommunications and a master's degree in mass communication at the University of Florida.

Marc moved from Gainesville to East Tennessee for his first professional job in November of 2015, where he spent nearly four years as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at WATE in Knoxville. In addition to covering the University of Tennessee, he co-anchored the high school football show, also named Friday Night Hits.

His work at WYFF 4 has been recognized with a Southeast Regional EMMY, nominations from the National Sports Media Association, and multiple awards from the South Carolina Broadcasting Association and RTNDAC.

Since relocating to the Upstate, Marc has been married to his wife, Mary, and they live near downtown Greenville with their two cats, Ellie and Cooper. They love exploring the Upstate, being part of a constantly growing, vibrant community, and trying new and different restaurants.

In his spare time, you might find him at one of his many favorite breweries or restaurants near downtown or along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, working out, or watching his favorite sports teams disappoint him.

If you’ve got story ideas, food suggestions, or just want to say hi!, he'd love to hear from you by email, Facebook or Twitter!
