Miya Payton

Miya Payton joined the WYFF News 4 team in June 2024 as a Weekend Evening Anchor and Weekday Reporter. Born and raised in Abbeville, Miya is thrilled to be back in the Upstate, bringing her passion for storytelling to her home community.

Miya's journalism career spans nearly seven years, with extensive experience in anchoring, reporting, and producing. She began her professional journey in Columbia, SC, as a producer at WIS News 10. Shortly after, she transitioned to FOX 54 in Augusta, GA, where she honed her skills for four years as a weekend anchor, reporter, and producer. She then returned to the state’s capital, working for almost three years at ABC Columbia as a weekend anchor, reporter, and producer.

A proud alumna of Lander University, Miya graduated in May 2015 with a B.A. in Mass Communication. Beyond her newsroom responsibilities, she embraces her love for salsa dancing and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
