Tri-County Technical College announces closure due to 'potential threat'
An Upstate college will not open Friday after receiving a "potential threat."
Tri-County Technical College posted on its website and sent texts to its students Thursday that it would be closed to all students and staff.
The school said an update will be provided by the end of the day Friday.
The school spokeswoman sent WYFF News 4 the following statement:
"All Tri-County Technical College campuses are closed today (May 27). The decision to close all campuses was made last night after the College received a threat via email. This is the second threat the College has received in the last 10 days. Tri-County Technical College Police and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the threat."
